Former Gingrich state campaign manager praises Ryan pick

In choosing Rep. Paul Ryan (R-Wisconsin) for the VP slot, former Massachusetts Gov. Mitt Romney shocked the political world.

But not former Alabama State Campaign Manager for Newt Gingrich, Michael Ciamarra, “Paul Ryan has big ideas, big solutions and in a big choice election.”

Ciamarra who also serves as Chairman, State Executive Committee Resolutions Committee for the GOP believes that this is the perfect choice to send a message that the Romney campaign is about a different vision of America, about a candidate that is solutions minded, with a vision to lead.

“The section of Ryan as VP is a big move because, Ryan is a solutions-oriented in the best traditions of Ronald Reagan,” said Ciamarra. “Ryan’s profile has risen greatly over the last few years as the go-to person on conservative budgets deficit reduction idea.”

In fact, Ryan’s “A Road Map for America’s Future” became a mantra and lighting rod for both the right and left degrees of the political spectrum.

Writing in January 2010 Ryan said, “A Roadmap for America’s Future is a comprehensive alternative to the heavily government-centered ideology now prevailing in Washington, which pursues a relentless expansion of government, and creates a growing culture of dependency – and in the process worsens a status quo that already threatens to overwhelm the budget and smother the economy.”

“I have thought for sometime that Ryan was the man for the VP position,” Ciamarra said. “He has the right skills and is the right leadership for our country.”

In what is being deemed a new day for the Romney campaign most believe Ryan’s sections as running mate shows that Romney wants to run on a campaign of conservative solutions and let the voters decide which agenda is best for the future.

Michael Ciamarra has been asked by the Mitt Romney campaign to serve as a surrogate for Romney in Alabama. Ciamarra will join Senator J.T. “Jabo” Waggoner in that role traveling the state speaking on the candidates behalf.
