New Poll Shows Young and Byrne in Dead Heat

MOBILE—In a new poll released by POLITICO, the contest to replace Rep. Jo Bonner in Alabama congressional district one, shows Dean Young with a slight edge over Bradley Byrne.

The poll, conducted by the GOP consulting firm Cygnal, has Dean with a 43.2 percent to 40.2 percent advantage over Byrne.

The race has been portrayed by the national media as a duel between two side of the republican coin, Dean the anti-establishment Tea Party favorite and Byrne the pro-business establishment type.

Roby Says that Farm Bill is a Top Legislative Priority for Her

Republicans Critical of Sebelius: Shelby Says She Needs To Go

Today a combative Health and Human Services Secretary Kathleen Sebelius (D) testified before a Congressional Committee on the many problems plaguing the rollout of the Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act, nicknamed “ObamaCare” by friends and foes alike.

Following Sebelius’s testimony, Alabama Republican Party Chairman Bill Armistead said in a prepared statement,

“Kathleen Sebelius continued to give the American people the runaround today. The ObamaCare website was down even as she testified, but Sebelius claimed it had never crashed. She has no information on enrollment numbers, she couldn’t even confirm if the ObamaCare website had proper security measures in place to protect a user’s personal and financial information!”

NASA Powers Up Orion Spacecraft

On Monday, NASA announced in a prepared statement that its first-ever, manned, deep space craft, Orion, has been powered up for the first time. NASA reported that Orion’s avionics system has been installed in the crew module and the ship has been powered up for a series of systems tests at NASA’s Kennedy Space Center in Florida last week. Orion’s vehicle management computer, including its innovative power and data distribution system, performed as expected.
