The Young Republican Federation of Alabama (YRFA) will hold their annual convention in Birmingham on Saturday, May 20. Alabama Senate President Del Marsh (R-Anniston) will join the Young Republicans at a YRFA Social at Regions Field for a Birmingham Barons game.

The YRs said in a statement, “We are so excited to close out the 2017 YRFA Convention with a Barons Game Social! And, we are even more excited to announce that Alabama Senate President Pro Tem will join us as our special featured guest! This year, we will enjoy the game and company of fun YRs from the Luxury Skyboxes (hooray for air conditioning and shelter from the rain!). Baseball ticket, full dinner, and adult beverages included with registration.”

YRFA Officer elections and YRNF Delegate elections will take place at Convention. If you are interested in running for an officer’s position (2 year term) or serving as a delegate to the YR National Convention (Annapolis, first weekend in August), please contact a member of the Nominating Committee: Jordan Doufexis ([email protected]), Stephanie Petelos ([email protected] ), or Adam Thompson ([email protected]).

The YRs will consider two resolutions: One dealing with party switchers, and the other with Autism.

The YRFAs will also adopt a platform.

The YRs said in a statement: “Every two years, we adopt an official platform stating the declared policies and philosophies of the Young Republican Federation of Alabama. This year’s committee (Chaired by Matt Hood) has submitted this document for consideration. We will discuss and vote on this at convention. Special thanks to the members of the Platform Committee for their work on this important document!
