Trump to rally in Huntsville to help Strange’s Campaign

Saturday, Sept, 16, 2017, Sen. Luther Strange’s, R-Ala., campaign got a huge boost when President Donald Trump went on Twitter to announce that he is coming to Huntsville next Saturday to campaign on behalf of Strange.

“I will be in Huntsville, Alabama, on Saturday night to support Luther Strange for Senate,” Trump wrote on Twitter. “‘Big Luther’ is a great guy who gets things done!”

Americans for Legal Immigration endorses Mo Brooks

Tuesday, August 8, 2017, the conservative group Americans for Legal Immigration announced its endorsement of Congressman Mo Brooks (R-Huntsville) for United States Senate.

Congressman Brooks is an outspoken proponent of building President Trump’s border wall and strictly enforcing America’s immigration laws.

The President of ALIPAC, William Gheen said in a statement, “It is vital to the effort to save America from this socialist backed illegal immigration overthrow of our elections and republic that we elect a very strong voice that supports our existing immigration laws instead of amnesty. Mo Brooks clearly has the strongest record against illegal immigration.”

US Representative Terri Sewell addresses group in Birmingham Town Hall

Tuesday, August 1, 2017, US Representative Terri Sewell (R-Selma) addressed a town hall in Birmingham hosted by State Representative Rolanda Hollis (D-Birmingham) about Republican efforts to repeal Obamacare (the Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act of 2010) and other issues facing  the Federal government.  The town hall was held in Birmingham’s Guiding Light Church on John Rogers Drive.  About 70 citizens were on hand to hear Sewell and the other participants on the panel on government.

Sessions says he’ll stay Attorney General as long as it is appropriate

The public rift between President Trump and Attorney General Jeff Sessions apparently continues to grow.  At a Department of Justice press conference on Thursday, July 20, 2017, Attorney General Sessions said, “We love this job, we love this department and I plan to continue to do so as long as that is appropriate.”

Sessions remarks at a Department of Justice press conference followed a Wednesday New York Times interview in which the President was sharply critical of his Attorney General’s decision to recuse himself from the Russian collusion scandal.

Alabama Republicans support Jeff Sessions

On Tuesday, June 13, 2017, US Attorney General Jeff Sessions (R) testified before the Senate Intelligence Committee regarding allegations that Donald J. Trump colluded with the Russian government to defeat Hillary R. Clinton (D) in the 2016 election. Most Alabama Republican leaders remain skeptical of the allegations and still support AG Jeff Sessions and President Trump.

Alabama Republican Party Chairman Terry Lathan said in a statement following US Attorney General Jeff Sessions’ testimony: “Attorney General Jeff Sessions is an individual of the highest character and moral fiber. The public testimony he gave to the Senate Intelligence Committee today clearly proves this. He volunteered to testify openly so all of America could hear his truth.”

Alabama Congressional Delegation condemn attacks on AG Sessions

Thursday, March 2, 2017, members of the Alabama Congressional delegation condemns calls by Democrats for US Attorney General Jeff Sessions to resign after it was revealed by The Washington Post that he met with the Russian Ambassador to the United States.

US Senator Luther Strange (R-Alabama) said, “I have not been in Washington very long, but I did not think Democrats could stoop much lower than they did during Jeff Session’s confirmation hearing. As we found out today, they can, and the hypocrisy of it is hard to stomach. For eight years, Democrats turned a blind eye to serious breaches of public trust, but they did not miss a beat in trying to undermine President Trump’s administration as it gets to work cleaning up their mess.”

Electoral College votes for Trump

Monday, December 19, 2016, Alabama’s Republican Electors met in Montgomery and there were no surprises as all nine voted—as they had pledged—for Donald Trump to be the 45th President of the United States.

Congresswoman Martha Roby (R-Montgomery) was present for the historic moment.

Representative Roby wrote in an email to constituents, “Alabama’s electors have officially cast our state’s nine electoral votes for President-elect Donald Trump and Vice President-elect Mike Pence. I attended today’s Electoral College ceremony at the State Capitol to see the votes cast in person. On January 6th, the House and Senate will meet in a joint session of Congress at the US Capitol to count and confirm the electoral votes from all states. Donald Trump visits Mobile for Victory Rally

On Saturday, the billionaire businessman and reality TV star was back in Mobile to celebrate his electoral college victory. Again, thousands turned out to welcome Trump to Alabama.
