Moore says that the U.S. should move the embassy to Jerusalem

Roy Moore released a statement in supporting President Donald Trump’s and Vice President Mike Pence’s efforts to move the American Embassy in Israel from Tel Aviv to Jerusalem.

“The Nation of Israel has traditionally found a strong ally in the United States of America.” Moore said. “I am grateful that the Trump-Pence Administration is actively working to restore the trust that was betrayed during the Obama era and I applaud their efforts to move the Embassy as a signal of our continued friendship.”

Roby Recounts Details of Middle East Trip

US Representative Martha Roby (R-Montgomery) traveled throughout the Middle East as part of a defense-related Congressional Delegation.  Following her trip, Rep. Roby briefed constituents in an email.

Congresswoman Roby said that the purpose of her trip was, “To evaluate the rising influence of ISIS and Iran and to examine the potential impacts on US interests at home and abroad. We had a number of productive meetings with officials from allied countries, our ambassadors and military personnel throughout the region.”

Byrne and Palmer Critical of President’s Deal With Iran

Friday, April 3, Congressmen Bradley Byrne (R-Montrose) and Gary Palmer (R-Hoover) both issued separate statements critical of President Obama’s proposed framework for a nuclear deal between Iran, the United States and other world powers.

US Representative Byrne said: “Let’s be clear here: Iran is no friend of the United States. Iran, the world’s foremost state-sponsor of terrorism, has repeatedly demonstrated that their national interests are in direct contrast to our country. Iran’s supreme leader was recently chanting “Death to America” at a rally, and an Iranian general just the other day said that “Israel’s destruction is non-negotiable.” Does that sound like a good negotiating partner?”

Wednesday, April 1 U.S. Representative Martha Roby (R from Montgomery) and Speaker of the House John Boehner (R from Ohio) were part of a high-profile delegation that met with Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu.

Representative Roby said, “Israel, our friend and close ally, is a critical foothold for democracy in a dangerous region that is, frankly, becoming less and less stable.”

Rep. Roby said, “We had a long, productive discussion with Prime Minister Netanyahu about our shared concerns relating to Iran’s nuclear capabilities. Under no circumstances can we allow Iran to build a nuclear weapon. It would threaten our allies, and it would cause a very serious ripple effect throughout the Middle East.”

Rogers Speaks Out on Netanyahu Visit

MONTGOMERY—Congressman Mike Rogers recently made clear his opinion about Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu’s upcoming visit to the United States in March.

Netanyahu’s visit comes without an invitation from President Obama and after the President has spent a lot of time cultivating a relationship with the Iranian government and addressing Iran’s belief that the country should be able to develop nuclear capabilities.  However, the new relationship with Iran is not a welcomed change in policy to many Americans.
