Let me be clear: any impropriety with a child is abhorrent

As one more accuser steps forward, it is now difficult to see Roy Moore’s path progress in his bid to become a senator from Alabama. There is already too much carnage left in the wake of the allegations against him.

But knowing Moore, he will not stand down. If he quits, he’s admitting guilt. If he stays, it will most likely only get worse for his accusers, the state of Alabama and for Moore and his family. But I don’t think retreat is in his nature.

Jefferson County District Attorney indicted, suspended

BIRMINGHAM—Jefferson County’s incoming District Attorney has been indicted on felony perjury charges just days before he is scheduled to take office.

Charles Todd Henderson, who was a surprise winner over incumbent Republican candidate Brandon Falls in November, has already been sworn in and was set to take over as the new DA on Tuesday. But under State law, a felony indictment will result in Henderson’s automatic suspension until the case can be resolved.

Strange Announces Multiple Indictments Of Former Troy Police Officer for Sex Crimes Against Child

Wednesday, Alabama Attorney General Luther Strange announced that a Pike County Grand Jury has indicted Willie Toney, age 61, for multiple sex crimes against a child.  The recently retired Troy police officer was arrested Wednesday by agents of the Alabama Bureau of Investigation and the Pike County Sheriff‘s Office.  He is currently in the Pike County Jail.

Attorney General Strange’s Office presented evidence to a Pike County grand jury, charging that Officer Toney committed improper and illegal sex crimes with a child victim under that age of 12.  Toney has been charged with one count of first-degree rape, two counts of first-degree sodomy, and two counts of first-degree sexual abuse.
