Gadsden attorney Cody Robinson qualifies to run for circuit judge in 16th circuit

Gadsden attorney Cody Robinson has qualified to run for the Republican nomination for Place 4 circuit court judge in Alabama’s 16th judicial circuit.

“I have practiced law in the courts of Alabama for fifteen years, representing individuals, families, businesses and government agencies,” Robinson said in a statement. “I have maintained a varied practice and have always striven to conduct myself as an attorney with the utmost integrity, holding myself accountable to the highest ethical standards. I believe that my background, experience and temperament uniquely qualify me for this position and I am ready to bring the values of hard work and integrity to the office of Circuit Judge.”

Sonny Steen qualifies officially for judgeship in Etowah County

Attorney Sonny Steen officially qualified Monday for the office of Circuit Judge, Place 3, in Etowah County, as a Republican.

“I look forward to continue campaigning across the county over the coming months,” Steen said. “It is my desire to meet and talk with as many citizens as possible so that I can earn their support and vote.”

Steen said that he believes that he has the right experience to effectively serve as Circuit Judge for Place 3.

Ethics Commission: Not Subject to Ethics Laws

Here’s a little-known fact: The Alabama Ethics Commission is not governed by the laws it is charged with enforcing.

That was made abundantly clear when Commissioner Judge Charles Price voted with a conflict of interest at an Oct. 5th Commission meeting. The conflict arose when he voted yes on an Advisory Opinion that permitted the City of Montgomery to give money to the local Chamber of Commerce. Price, a retired Montgomery Circuit Judge, is a board member of the chamber and will shortly become its president.
