Tuscaloosa Mayor Walt Maddox campaigns for Doug Jones

Tuscaloosa Mayor and Democratic candidate for governor Walt Maddox announced that he is campaigning for Democratic candidate for U.S. Senate Doug Jones.

“We Need Doug in the U.S. Senate,” Maddox announced.

Maddox, who is running for Alabama governor in 2018, announced that he will spend the next seven days campaigning for Jones, saying that Jones represents the change we need in Washington to help Alabama families.

Congresswoman Terri Sewell Tapped To Lead HSDA Adult Advisory Board

WASHINGTON – US Representatives Terri Sewell (D-Alabama) and Joaquin Castro (D-Texas) will serve as honorary co-chairs of the newly-formed High School Democrats of America Adult Board of Advisors, the organization announced on Wednesday.

The seven-member board will provide a long-term network for partnership and collaborative efforts with other progressive organizations, according to HSDA National Chairman Jordan Cozby. The Advisory Board will also assist in creating organizational continuity and expanding outreach opportunities.

Kennedy resigns after long-standing conflict with Joe Reed

Judge Mark Kennedy confirmed in a press statement this morning that he will resign as Chairman of the Alabama Democratic Party later today, effective on Monday.

Kennedy says in his statement, “We will always stand shoulder to shoulder with people of goodwill who choose to fight for progress.  The Alabama Democratic Party has a long and storied history, and now, we must face the reality of changing times as we strive for more inclusiveness and relevance.”
