Moore says that the U.S. should move the embassy to Jerusalem

Roy Moore released a statement in supporting President Donald Trump’s and Vice President Mike Pence’s efforts to move the American Embassy in Israel from Tel Aviv to Jerusalem.

“The Nation of Israel has traditionally found a strong ally in the United States of America.” Moore said. “I am grateful that the Trump-Pence Administration is actively working to restore the trust that was betrayed during the Obama era and I applaud their efforts to move the Embassy as a signal of our continued friendship.”

Anger in response to Obama refusal to veto an anti-Israeli UN resolution

Friday, December 23, 2016, the UN Security Council on Friday passed a resolution demanding an end to Israeli settlement building in the disputed territories, including East Jerusalem. As a permanent member of the Security Council the US could have vetoed the resolution but abstained from doing so. A bipartisan group of leaders quickly condemned the controversial change in decades of US policy of shielding Israel from UN actions.

Byrne Gives Speech Highlighting the Persecution of Christians Abroad

On Tuesday, U.S. Representative Bradley Byrne (R) from Montrose delivered a speech on the floor of the U.S. House of Representatives highlighting the plight of Christians being persecuted at the hands of oppressive governments or in the absence of a functioning government.

Congressman Byrne said: “As a Judeo-Christian nation and the greatest force for good on the planet, our nation has a moral responsibility to contribute to ending Christian persecution. As the Christian communities in nations like Egypt, Iran, and Pakistan continue to be decimated, we cannot turn a blind eye to this injustice.”

Congressman Robert Aderholt (R) from Haleyville released a written statement on Wednesday in response to the chaos in Egypt and regarding the people of Egypt’s call for peaceful resignation of Egyptian President Mohammed Morsi.

Rep. Aderholt said, “As we have seen in the news, in recent days millions of Egyptians across political and religious lines have been gathering to peacefully demonstrate their desire for a more transparent and real democracy. It is my understanding that the people of Egypt have come together and collected more than 25 million signatures asking for a transitional democratic government. That is nearly twice the number of votes that President Morsi received when he was elected last year.”
