Much to do has been made over the last several days in the wake of Donald Trump’s evident coronation as the GOP’s 2016 nominee about how he has a lot of ground to make up with certain groups.

Hispanics, Latinos, and African Americans are deemed unreachable due to his previous statements on race and the perception, fair or not, of the Republican party’s recent history with minority groups.

Rainy Day Patriots Kicked Out of Hoover Tactical Over Negative Comments about Shelby

Thursday, February 18, the Rainy Day Patriots met for a US Senate candidate’s forum at Hoover Tactical Firearms when they were told by Hoover Tactical Firearms owner Gene Smith that this meeting was outside of the bounds of their agreement and could not be held. The Senate debate had to be cancelled.

rainyPresent at the event were Jonathan McConnell, former State Senator Shadrack McGill, Marcus Bowman, and John Martin. The incumbent, US Senator Richard Shelby (R) was not there, neither were the two Democrats; Ron Crumpton and Charles Nana.

McConnell’s Foreign Companies Raise Questions

MONTGOMERY—Exotic locations, pirates on the high-seas, and a run for the US Senate sounds like an adventure novel, but a closer look at Senate candidate Jonathon McConnell’s business interests, raises questions about foreign registries and campaign disclosures.

McConnell has failed to meet required federal election deadlines, and left out key information on campaign reports, all which he dismisses as, “clerical errors.”

McConnell is the sole owner of Meridian Global Consulting, LLC, an Alabama-based LLC, maritime security provider, established in 2009, according to filings with the Secretary of State. He has also listed the company on his US Senate financial disclosure stating, it is an Alabama company and he is sole owner.

Shelby Campaign Goes Negative Against McConnell

For weeks, Jonathan McConnell has been making accusation after accusation against incumbent US Senator Richard Shelby (R-Alabama).  McConnell has accused Shelby of using his position to enrich himself and his friends.  Despite Shelby’s near perfect conservative voting score record from the American Conservative Union, McConnell has denounced Shelby as being “establishment.”

Senator Shelby has spent his enormous campaign resources touting his conservative voting record and what his seniority allows him to do for the people of Alabama.  Shelby’s campaign had resisted the urge to go negative against McConnell……until now.

U.S. Senate Candidates Speak in Trussville

On Thursday, February 4, the Republican Women of Trussville (RWOT) held a forum for the candidates running for US Senate in the March 1 Republican Primary.

Former State Senator Shadrack McGill (R-Woodville) said that he is 40 years old and has been married to his wife, Heather for 16 years.

McGill joked, I believe in the rapture.  I hope it’s coming real soon so we won’t have to fix this mess that we are in.  “I started out as a businessman.  I had a machine shop for 11 years.”  Then my pastor asked me to help with the Roby Moore campaign for governor.  That was my political beginning.
