Opinion | Why doesn’t it hurt to be wrong anymore?

Do conservatives never feel dumb?

Maybe “dumb” is too harsh. Embarrassed? Ashamed?

Any of those? Any feeling resembling some level of remorse for loudly holding a belief that is 100 percent wrong?

Because, I hate to be the bearer of tough news here, but you guys are wrong a lot.

A whole lot.

On some pretty basic things.

I suppose that happens when your every belief eschews facts in favor of feels. But still, I wonder if you feel badly when your long-held beliefs — particularly those that are hurtful to your fellow Americans — prove to be untrue?

Moore campaign fires back at Leigh Corfman

November 22, 2017

By Chip Brownlee
Alabama Political Reporter

As the sexual misconduct allegations continue to swirl around U.S. Senate candidate Roy Moore, three of his spokesmen came out Tuesday to push back against the women whose accusations have threatened to capsize his campaign, claiming Moore’s first accuser Leigh Corfman had “pre-existing behavioral issues” and that other specific details from Corfman and other accusers just don’t add up.

Moore’s campaign has maintained and said again Tuesday that Moore has never met Corfman and doesn’t know her but Corfman, in an interview Monday, stood by her accusations that Moore initiated sexual contact with her when she was 14 years old, and he was 32, saying, “I wonder how many ‘me’s’ he ‘doesn’t know.'”

Facts and scandals will never trouble Trump voters

June 13, 2017

There appears to be a bit of confusion among media folks across the country.

Following last week’s testimony from former FBI Director James Comey, people with cameras and notepads rushed out to interview Trump voters to see if the people who elected The Walking Congressional Hearing had buyer’s remorse.

And they were, expectedly, aghast to discover that greater than 90 percent of those voters held no remorse (Some of this is due to the fact that they don’t know what the word means, but not all of it).

Bo Bice, Popeye’s chicken and a lesson in racism

January 5, 2017

By Josh Moon

Bo Bice likes his chicken without the side of racism, thanks.

The former “American Idol” runner-up and Alabama resident resurfaced this week in one of the oddest ways: claiming on Facebook that he was discriminated against while ordering chicken at a Popeye’s restaurant in the Atlanta airport.

I know, I know. You’re thinking there’s no way this is true. That we finally got 2016 to mercifully come to an end and then 2017 goes and starts with Bo freakin’ Bice and Popeye’s chicken. Read More

Trump is a bigot. If you support him, own it.

I’m getting some crap on Facebook because I made the following post:

“Anybody who puts a Trump sign in their yard is saying: “I’m a bigot.” That’s what they’re saying. They’re welcome to do that, but they must understand that if they have a Trump sign in their yard, they’re bigots. Live with it.”

OK. I knew that post would bring on a storm. People don’t like to think of themselves as bigots. But that doesn’t make it false.

Palin was the running mate of 2008 GOP Presidential Candidate John McCain. Despite the eventual loss to Barack H Obama and Joe Biden, Palin remains popular with “movement” conservatives and Tea Party activists.
