Moore campaign dismisses Daily Beast story as another misleading attack

Saturday, the Roy Moore Campaign dismissed reporting by the Daily Beast that the former chief justice’s federal and state ethics filings do not match.

“This is another misleading attack on Judge Moore and his wife,” the Moore campaign said in a statement.

“First, the 990 Form, as reported in the Daily Beast story, is a manipulated document,” the campaign claimed.

The Moore campaign provided no further detail on this claim.

Report: Roy Moore left income off Senate ethics disclosure form

The Daily Beast reported that U.S. Senate candidate Roy Moore appears to have left as much as $150,000 in income off of his Senate financial disclosure forms when it was compared to his state of Alabama ethics disclosure form, which he filed two months earlier.

There are also debts on the state form that appear to have been left off of the federal filing.

“In filings with the Alabama Ethics Commission, Moore, the former chief justice of the state supreme court, listed between $50,000 and $150,000 in honoraria received last year for various speaking engagements,” the article said. “But in a filing with the Senate Ethics Committee two months later, he explicitly denied having received any payments last year ‘for an article, speech, or appearance.’”

Bentley Receives Failing Grade On Fiscal Conservatism From CATO Institute

MONTGOMERY—-The Governor’s performance as a fiscal conservative has been graded, and he is taking home a report card with a big fat F.

The right-wing libertarian CATO Institute gave Alabama Governor Robert Bentley an F on his fiscal policy report card for 2016.

CATO ranks every governor in the United States on fiscal policy every other year, giving A’s and B’s to governor’s they deem fiscally conservative and failing grades to governors whom they don’t.
