Moore supporters seek revenge against Sen. Shelby

A group of Judge Roy Moore’s supporters is planning to introduce a resolution to censure Alabama’s U.S. Sen. Richard Shelby because he publicly stated that he “couldn’t vote for Roy Moore,” as reported by Politico on Saturday.

It’s no small irony that a faction of the Alabama Republican Executive Committee is tarring Sen. Shelby with half-truths and lies just like The Washington Post is accused of doing with Judge Moore.

Young Republican Federation of Alabama divided in decision to suspend support for Roy Moore

Saturday, November 18, 2017, the Young Republican Federation of Alabama (YRFA) Steering Committee passed a resolution suspending their support for Roy Moore’s candidacy for the United States Senate by a supermajority vote. The resolution also calls for Roy Moore to step aside as the Republican nominee if he is unable or unwilling to clearly and convincingly refute the allegations against him.

“The YRFA is a diverse organization with clubs all over the state of Alabama,” said YRFA Chairman Jackie Curtiss. “We understand, respect, and appreciate that there are varying opinions on this issue within our Federation. We also encourage and welcome individual clubs to speak out on this issue according to the conscience of their membership.”

Lathan re-elected as ALGOP Chairman

Saturday, February 25, 2017, the Alabama Republican Party Executive Committee met at the Wynfrey Hotel in Hoover and re-elected Chairman Terry Lathan.

Chairman Lathan was elected without opposition as was the rest of the leadership team.

The Chairman said in a statement, “I am deeply humbled to have earned my team’s trust for another term as Chairman of the Alabama Republican Party. Our focus will be to protect our successes and add to them. Clearly, conservative values and principles resonate with Alabama voters. The Republican Party will continue to champion our platform.”

Republicans Nominate Romney with Support of Alabama Republican Delegation

It has taken years, thousands of hours of work, and millions of campaign dollars, but the Republican Party has finally offered former Massachusetts Governor Mitt Romney their nomination for President of the United States.

It has been apparent to everyone, but the most hardened Ron Paul supporters, that Romney would be the nominee since former Senator Rick Santorum suspended his Presidential campaign just before his home state’s Republican Primary, but it is not official until the Republican Party Convention delegates vote.
