BCA’s Canary Cares About Next Superintendent of Education

Business Council of Alabama CEO, Billy Canary, and former State Superintendent of Education and current leader of BCA’s education arm, Joe Morton, recently co-authored an Op-Ed in which they pose questions they want answered by the State Superintendent candidates.

Canary and Morton write, “no way are we trying to influence the vote or the final selection…[of State Superintendent]” This is like a hooker telling a John that hard cash will have no bearing on the outcome of their date.

Public Officials Join Launch of Engage Cuba Alabama State Council

MONTGOMERY—Engage Cuba, the leading advocacy organization working to end the travel and trade embargo on Cuba, will join State leaders at the container facility at the Port Authority State Docks in Mobile, to launch the Engage Cuba Alabama State Council, later today.

A network of agriculture, business, technology, manufacturing, education, energy and health care constitutes the core entities behind Engage Cuba. Their goal is to build statewide support to end the 50 year travel ban and trade embargo on this, the largest of the Caribbean Islands, and a unitary, sovereign state.

Bentley’s Op-Ed Proves He’s Delusional

In an op-ed for al.com dated May 9, 2016, Governor Robert Bentley declares he has no “intention of being a caretaker governor.”

Bad news for Bentley: His insistence that he won’t to be relegated to the sidelines during the remainder of his time in office as a “caretaker” governor is not only poignantly pathetic, it’s a whiny, plaintive, petulant protestation nobody believes.

Moreover, while everyone gets what Bentley’s op-ed unpersuasively tried to say, that Bentley would go out of his way to distance himself from the role of a “caretaker” should come as no surprise to Alabamians (or anyone else) following the reality-tv-style high jinks Bentley’s salacious, self-serving tenure will forever be remembered for.
