Governor Siegelman asks Trump for pardon

Former Alabama Governor Don Siegelman (D) asked President Donald Trump to pardon him on the Fox Business Network’s show Cavuto Coast to Coast.

Siegelman was convicted in 2006 of bribery charges. His conviction rests upon a $500,000 donation from HealthSouth founder Richard Scrushy to the non profit Alabama Education Foundation, which was an entity created to fund and support a statewide referendum on an Alabama Education Lottery.

Marshall Said that Pardons and Paroles Board Made Right Decision in Reversing Pilati’s Pardons

Tuesday, February 21, 2017 Alabama Attorney General Steven T. Marshall (R) announced in a statement that he is pleased with the State Pardons and Paroles Board decision to reverse 2012 and 2015 pardons for convicted former Franklin County District Attorney John Frederick Pilati and require he be placed back on the sex offender registry.

AG Marshall said, “I am pleased that the Board of Pardons and Paroles followed our recommendation to deny his pardons.” “John Pilati violated a solemn oath to protect and defend the people when he violated the civil rights through sexual contact with five different young men while he was district attorney.”

Obama may be Siegelman’s last hope

OAKDALE, LA—On Tuesday, January 17, 2017 President Barack H Obama (D) continued his unprecedented whirlwind of pardons and sentence commutations as time runs out on his eight years in office. President Obama upset many when he commuted most of the sentence of Chelsea Manning.

US Representative Bradley Byrne (R-Montrose) said in a statement, “I strongly disagree with President Obama’s decision to commute the sentence of Chelsea Manning, who was convicted of leaking classified government and military documents. These actions put American lives at risk and empowered our enemies. It is absolutely absurd to reward the behavior of someone whose actions put the safety and security of the American people at risk.” Read More
