Saturday, March 4, 2017, thousands of supporters of President Donald J. Trump held rallies in dozens of American cities, including in Berkley, California, where Trump marchers were attacked by a mob of violent leftists. In Hoover the Jefferson County Republican Party, the Alabama Constitutional Conservatives, the Alabama Minority GOP, and Alabama March for Trump held a joint “Spirit of America” rally in the parking lot of Hoover Tactical Firearms.

Worley calls on Senate to reject Sessions nomination

Saturday, November 19, 2016, Alabama Democratic Party Chairwoman Nancy Worley called the appointment of US Senator Jeff Sessions “disturbing” and called on the US Senate to reject Sen. Sessions as President Donald J. Trump’s (R) Attorney General.

Chairwoman Worley said in a statement, “Donald Trump’s choice of Jefferson Beauregard Sessions, III for US Attorney General is deeply disturbing. Our nation does not need an Attorney General with a history of hostility toward civil rights law, as well as disdain for voting rights activists overseeing civil rights and voting rights enforcement.”

Republicans Gather for Debate Watch Party

An estimated 90 Birmingham area Republicans gathered to support Donald J. Trump at a debate watch party at Superior Grill in Northern Shelby County. The event was sponsored by the Greater Birmingham Republican Women, the Alabama Constitutional Conservatives, the Jefferson County Republican Party, the Alabama Minority GOP.

As expected, Trump got many enthusiastic rounds of applause and cheers from the conservative groups in his debate with former Secretary of State Hillary R. Clinton.

Alabama Republicans’ Thoughts on Debate

Monday, September 26—Donald Trump and Hillary Clinton faced off for their first debate. For those expecting fireworks, it did not disappoint. The debate was hosted at Hofstra University and moderated by NBC News’ Lester Holt. The Alabama Political Reporter (APR) watched it in Vestavia Hills with the Alabama Minority GOP, the Constitutional Conservatives and the Jefferson County Republican Party. The strongly pro-Trump crowd cheered every minute.

Presidential Debate Watch Parties Tonight

Monday, September 26, 2016, with the race essentially tied the two presidential candidates meet for the first debate. A surging Donald Trump faces former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton at Hofstra University.

The Alabama Constitutional Conservatives, the Jefferson County Republican Party, and the Minority GOP are hosting a debate watch party at Vestavia Hills.

The covered dish supper begins at 7:00 and will be at 1401 Montgomery Highway, Vestavia. There will be a meeting of the Minority GOP prior to the event.

More Reaction to Baton Rouge Police Slayings

Sunday, July 17 a peaceful Sunday morning in the south was violently disrupted when heavily armed militants ambushed the Baton Rouge police department. Three officers and a militant were killed in the ensuing gun battle. Three other officers were wounded in the fighting. People across Alabama mourned the loss of the law enforcement officers along with the people of Louisiana.

GOP Debates Continue to Draw Attention

On Tuesday, December 15, the Republican Presidential Candidates held another Presidential Debate, this time hosted by CNN.  The Alabama Constitutional Conservatives, the Re-Elect Judge Dorothea Batiste Campaign, and the Alabama Minority GOP sponsored a GOP Presidential Debate Watching and Christmas Party at John’s Diner in downtown Birmingham.

In the debate former Florida Governor Jeb Bush (R) went hard after Republican frontrunner, New York City businessman and reality TV star Donald Trump.  Bush said that Trump is good at one liners; but called him the, “chaos candidate.”  Bush attacked Trump for suggesting that the US should ban Muslims from entering the country while we study how to improve security.  Bush said, “The Kurds are our strongest allied fighting fore and they are Muslims.”  Governor Bush said that the U.S. needs to lead a coalition against ISIS and Trump’s policy of “Banning all Muslims will make it harder to fight ISIS.”  Jeb Bush told Trump, “You are never going to be President.”

ALGOP Factions Divided on Strategy as Election Looms

Late on Monday night Alabama Republican Party Executive Committee members received a lengthy email from Alabama Republican Party Chairman Bill Armistead in which the ALGOP Chairman accused members of the Party Steering Committee of attempting to sabotage the Alabama Republican Party’s election plans in favor of their own thinking.

Chairman Armistead wrote, “Several members of the ALGOP Steering Committee seem determined to sabotage ALGOP’s 2014 political plan to suit their own personal preferences.  They want to disregard the work that has been done, and is being done, by our political team who has worked for nearly two years developing our plan based on demographics, voting history, polling data and viability of candidate.”

Public Service Commission Place 2 Candidates Speak at Gardendale Straw Poll

Last week, three of the four candidates for Public Service Commission (PSC) Place 2 spoke to voters at the Jefferson County Republican Party Straw poll.  Chip Beeker, Phillip Brown, and Jonathan Barbee are all challenging incumbent PSC Commissioner Terry Dunn (R) and all three challengers addressed Jefferson County Republican voters at the Gardendale Civic Center.

Chip Beeker was the first to address the Jefferson County GOP.  Beeker said he has three children and nine grandchildren.  Beeker is a farmer who raises catfish, cows, and has a timber business. Beeker lives near Eutaw in Greene County.  Beeker is a former Greene County Commissioner and Chairman of the Greene County Republicans.

On Monday, May 12, Chip Beeker (R) announced that the Alabama Association of Realtors (AAR) has endorsed his candidacy for the Alabama Public Service Commission (PSC) Place 2.

AAR President Pam Segars Morris said, “After reviewing the candidates for this post, AAR determined that Chip Beeker possesses the experience, intellect, and conservative principles needed to fairly balance the interests of consumers and the utilities that serve them.  The bottom line is that affordable utility rates help our members sell houses, and Chip Beeker is our best chance at holding the line on costs for that electricity, natural gas, and other utilities we utilize in everyday life.”
