Young Democrats Debate Watch

BIRMINGHAM—Young Democrats across Alabama hosted public watch parties for the last presidential debate between Hillary Clinton and Donald Trump on Wednesday night.

The Alabama Young Democrats, a statewide organization, along with members of their Birmingham, East Alabama and North-Central Alabama chapters, hosted a joint watch party with the Hillary Clinton campaign at the Historic Carver Theatre in downtown Birmingham. More than 250 attendees packed the theatre, booing and cheering together throughout the debate.

Republicans Like Romney’s Performance in Last Debate

Facebook and Twitter allow pundits, politicians, and the public to respond in real time to the Presidential debates.  Neither candidate was able to deliver a knock out blow in the final debate; but Republicans were generally positive about Governor Romney’s performance.

Alabama Republican Party Chairman Bill Armistead said in a written statement, “An overly aggressive Obama proved one thing to political observers tonight — the President knows he is falling behind and needed to mix things up. Obama interrupted, smirked and laughed his way through another debate, all the while Governor Romney sat poised, calm and collected. Some might even call that being Presidential.”

Republicans Jubilant Over Romney Debate Performance

Republican candidate Mitt Romney debated Democratic President Barack Obama on television Wednesday night.  Social media allows everyone to express their opinion after and even during the debates.  Republicans are claiming victory, while Democrats appear to be conceding the point in the first debate.

Alabama State Representative Phil Williams (R) from Huntsville said on Facebook, “I think everyone knows I support Governor Romney for President.  However, I think he did a fantastic job on his first debate.”
