Craig Lipscomb qualifies for State House District 30

Craig Lipscomb, a Gadsden area architect, recently formally filed paperwork with the Alabama Republican Party to qualify as a candidate for the Alabama House of Representatives in District 30.

“I am honored to run for the Republican nomination for House District 30,” Lipscomb said. “This decision is the result of much time and prayer with friends, family and respected members of our community. It was not taken lightly, and I am certain that this is both a wise and appropriate decision for myself and our community.”

Candidates appeal to St. Clair County Farmers

Monday, January 15, 2018, the St. Clair County Farmer’s Federation held a political forum in Ashville, Alabama.  Candidates spoke to the farmers about the issues facing St. Clair County and the state of Alabama.

“I have served one term in the Senate and three terms in the House,” state Sen. Jim McClendon, R-Springville, said. “I am going to do it one more time. I look forward to your support.  I don’t think I have ever taken a stand against a Farmer’s Federation position.”

Robert McKay runs as a Republican in House District 30

Thursday, former Ashville Mayor Robert McKay announced that he was running as a Republican for state representative in state House District 30.

“I would like to announce that I will be seeking the office of Alabama House District 30 in 2018,” McKay said in a statement. “The seat is being vacated by Mack Butler, R-Rainbow City, who won the Primary against me in 2014.”
