U.S. Rep. Terri A. Sewell, D-Selma, was sharply critical of the Republican tax reform package in a recent email to constituents.

“This month, Congress is considering passage of a tax bill that cuts taxes for special interests and the wealthy while eliminating provisions that middle-class families rely on to afford medical expenses, education, their mortgage, and more,” Sewell said. “I fought to fix the tax bill when it came before the Ways and Means Committee, and now I’m fighting to fix it before it passes Congress.”

Former Trump strategist Steve Bannon to campaign for Moore next week

By Chip Brownlee

Breitbart executive chairman and former White House chief strategist Steve Bannon, long considered one of President Donald Trump’s key allies, will return to Fairhope, Alabama, next week to campaign for Republican Senate candidate Roy Moore. It’ll be Bannon’s second visit to the state to stump for Moore.

Bannon, since leaving the White House in August, has been mounting a nationwide effort to elect more populists and nationalists. Moore has become one of Bannon’s first projects. In September, Bannon traveled to Fairhope to campaign for Moore during the primary election. Bannon supported Moore over the establishment-embraced Sen. Luther Strange. Bannon’s right-leaning Breitbart news has been staunch in their alignment with Moore.

U.S. Senate candidate Roy Moore blasted his opponent, Doug Jones for supporting “Bernie Sanders style economics” that the Moore campaign claimed, “would crush small businesses, stifle the free market, and make it harder for everyday Alabamians to put food on the table.”

“Small businesses account for around two-thirds of American jobs,” Moore said. “Alabama business owners and entrepreneurs work hard every day to provide quality products, services, and jobs to our communities and they deserve to reap all of the benefits of a free market that is unencumbered by the burdens of the federal government. As your next United States Senator, I will work hard to roll back unnecessary government regulations, remove tax rules that punish small business owners, and join the President in promoting economic policies that put the needs of the American people first.”

“We are intent upon bringing out the truth, when no one in the press or in D.C. seems to care,” said Moore campaign strategist, Brett Doster. “The quotes from these three people who would have personal knowledge of the mall’s security protocol completely counter everything alleged by the liberal media and the Moore Campaign’s political enemies.  Roy Moore is an honorable man, and his character is being affirmed by those who know him best.”
