A few months back the Jefferson County Republican Party honored our Senior U.S. Senator, Richard Shelby. It was held at The Club in Birmingham. The view from atop Red Mountain from this elegant club is spectacular, especially at night from the ballroom. The glass enclosure allows you to see the grandeur of the Birmingham skyline. As you glimpse at the scene you can see many of the buildings that are the heart of the University of Alabama/Birmingham.

Shelby Addresses Young Republicans

Thursday, August 20, US Senator Richard Shelby (R-Alabama) was at The Club in Birmingham, to speak to the Greater Birmingham Young Republicans at their annual summer luncheon.

Shelby began by praising Alabama Republican Party Chairman Terry Lathan: “She is determined to make the Republican Party Stronger, and more viable that it has ever been.”  Shelby told Lathan, “I am proud to work with you.”

Marsh Addresses Young Republicans

Friday, October 10, the President Pro Tem of the Alabama State Senate, Senator Del Marsh (R) from Anniston addressed the Greater Birmingham Young Republicans at their annual luncheon, which was held at The Club on Robert Smith Drive in Birmingham.

Senator Marsh told the group that it is hard to believe that it has been only four years since the Alabama Republican Party won control of both Houses of the Alabama State Legislature. Marsh said that is the best group of legislators that he has ever worked with.

Marsh to Address GBYR in Birmingham Friday

On Friday, October 10, the Greater Birmingham Young Republicans (GBYR) will hold their annual luncheon. This year’s event will feature Special Guest Speaker Senator Del Marsh (R from Anniston).

Senator Marsh was elected by his peers in the Alabama State Senate to be the President Pro Tempore of the Alabama Senate in the organizational session following the Republican landslide election of 2010. The President Pro Tem is the most powerful member of the 35 member upper house of the Alabama legislature.
