A bombshell allegation is suddenly unleashed on a populist candidate a month before the general election, women come forward with tales of misconduct, outraged media and GOP establishment types who never supported the nominee all demand that the nominee drop out of the race for the good of the party.

We all lived through this once; when an unflattering video of Donald Trump was released and the political world went into carefully orchestrated shock and outrage.

Wednesday, the Washington Post released a report claiming that Republican U.S. Senate candidate Roy Moore failed to disclose $180,000 a year in secret payments from his own charity for part-time work.

The Alabama Political Reporter contacted the Moore for Senate campaign for their response. Campaign spokesman, Brett Doster, said, “Judge Roy Moore’s record of service has been according to the highest of ethical standards. This Washington Post hit piece is a part of their routine volunteer partnership with the Democratic National Committee and is just another example of the liberal media’s attack on our campaign.”

A Dark Omen Rises From Moore Trial

October 4, 2016

By Bill Britt
Alabama Political Reporter

Those politicos and advocates who follow history should mark Friday, September 30,2016 on their calendars and note it as the day the State of Alabama changed due to the suspension of Chief Justice Roy S. Moore from the Alabama Supreme Court.

There is no reason for anyone on either side of this issue to celebrate. By suspending Judge Moore, the Judicial Inquiry Commission (JIC) and the Court of the Judiciary (COJ) have completely undermined the very institutions that stand for equal justice.

Moore Faces Trial

September 26, 2016

By Brandon Moseley
Alabama Political Reporter

Wednesday, September 28, 2016, Alabama Chief Justice Roy Moore (R) will be fighting for his career in yet another trial before the Court of the Judiciary.

The charges against the Chief Justice were brought by the Judicial Inquiry Commission (JIC). The JIC is being widely criticized for their actions in attempting to remove the elected Chief Justice.

The Chief Justice is defended by Liberty Counsel. The founder and chairman of Liberty Counsel, Matt Staver, said, ”The current situation allows the JIC too much power and the ability to punish judges without due process. Chief Justice Roy Moore should have never been suspended from his bench from these baseless charges. The JIC has become an arm of the Southern Poverty Law Center and other politically-motivated groups. The JIC is not supposed to be politically biased but it has become so. The JIC needs to be reigned in.”

Reaction to Alabama Supreme Court Ruling Nullifying Same-Sex Marriage Ruling

March 4, 2015

By Brandon Moseley

Tuesday, March 3 the Alabama Supreme Court ordered Alabama Probate Judges to stop issuing same-sex marriages. The court argues that for over 200 years of Alabama history marriage has been recognized as between one man and one woman and the law remains that way. Most probate judges in Alabama have issued marriage licenses to same-sex couple after a federal judge in Mobile, Callie V.S. Granade, declared Alabama’s Defense of Marriage state constitutional amendment unconstitutional.

Moore Calls for Constitutional Convention to Fight Gay Marriage

February 7, 2014

The Chief Justice of the Alabama Supreme Court, Roy Moore (R), has never feared controversy.  While most judges are quiet, bookish if opinionated, types who are careful about what they do or say outside of the court room, Chief Justice Roy Moore is much more outspoken and is easily the most famous Alabama jurist of the last 40 years.

Moore catapulted into the national spot light by fighting for the right to display the Ten Commandments in his Etowah County Court room.  The resulting publicity made the former Vietnam War MP Captain, prosecutor, cowboy, kick boxer into a potent political force that put him in charge of the Alabama Court System as Chief Justice of the Alabama Supreme Court.  The Ten Commandments monument he put in Alabama’s Supreme Court Building and the resulting federal lawsuit ultimately led to his eventual removal as Chief Justice.  Following a book tour and two unsuccessful runs for Governor, the people of Alabama sent ‘Judge Moore’ back to his post as Alabama’s Chief Justice.

Moore Says Foundation for Moral Law Will Says Marriage is an Ordination of God

June 28, 2013

Wednesday the United States Supreme Court released opinions in United States v. Windsor, Executor of the Estate of Spyer Et.Al. and Hollingsworth Et.Al. v. Perry Et.Al., two cases that centered around same sex marriage.

The President of the Foundation for Moral Law in Montgomery, Kayla Moore issued a written statement following the rulings. President Moore wrote,

“In declaring that DOMA, Defense of Marriage Act is unconstitutional, the United States Supreme Court not only struck down a 1996 Act of Congress, but also disregarded hundreds of years of history of western civilization. The Court has taken upon itself to refute our history, our law, and our faith and this is wrong. The Court left unsettled the validity of state laws, like our law here in Alabama, by failing to address the issues in Proposition 8, California’s Constitutional Amendment, which declares marriage as between one man and one woman. The Court simply said that petitioners lacked “standing” to bring the action before the Court, and avoided addressing the issue altogether.”
