GOP Chairman Armistead Calls On Alabama Conservatives to Come Forward for Romney

The Chairman of the Alabama Republican Party, Bill Armistead announced in an email an effort by the Alabama Republican Party to take the fight to Democratic President Obama by going to swing states:  Florida, Virginia, and North Carolina to campaign for Governor Mitt Romney (R) in his quest to become the next President of the United States.

Chairman Armistead said, “We are blessed to live in a state like Alabama where the majority of its people share our values and will cast their votes for the Romney/Ryan ticket. However, we know the fate of the nation does not rest on how Alabama will vote. It rests in the hands of voters living in Battleground States.”

Chairman Armistead quoted Sons of Liberty organizer Sam Adams, ““If ever a time should come, when vain and aspiring men shall possess the highest seats in government, our country will stand in need of its experienced patriots to prevent its ruin.” Chairman Armistead said, “He (Sam Adams) was speaking about the very conditions that exist in America today.”

Chairman Armistead warned, “We are at a tipping point here in America and voters will soon choose which direction we will go. Do we abandon the hope of the American Revolution and admit this grand experiment in self-government has failed, or do we reaffirm our commitment to liberty, economic freedom and most importantly, the belief in the individual over the government?  That is the central question of this election. I know what side I am on. And, I believe I know what side you are on. We must stand with Governor Romney and Congressman Ryan as we push back an overreaching government and the Obama Administration’s reckless policies. We have to fight for the American Dream for our children and their children.”

Chairman Armistead said, “That is why the Alabama Republican Party has established the Alabama Battleground Patriots. The Alabama Battleground Patriots are volunteers from across Alabama who are rising up and saying they want to do more than vote for Romney/Ryan. They want some skin in the game. They are afraid that we will lose our country as we know it today if Obama is re-elected. They are ready to be deployed to a battleground state to save our country.”

Armistead said, “Patriots will work with the Romney/Ryan Campaign and the RNC to knock on doors and contact thousands of influential undecided voters who will decide the future for our children. Patriots will be trained and pared up with local volunteers and Romney/Ryan campaign staff.” Chairman Armistead asked for Republicans to volunteer to canvas those all-important swing states.

Most analysts believe that if Romney loses Florida, Virginia, or North Carolina that he has no chance of defeating Obama in the November 6th election.  Polls show President Obama ahead in almost all of the swing states but the margins are very close.

Buses are departing for Virginia, North Carolina or Florida on October 21 and will return to Alabama on October 27.   Contact the Alabama Republican Party if you are interested in volunteering.
