Monday, August 21, 2017, the first poll conducted, since the Alabama Senate primary, was released and it shows Judge Roy Moore with a commanding lead over incumbent Senator Luther Strange (R) in the upcoming Senate Republican primary runoff. The JMC Analytics poll conducted between August 17 and 19 among likely Republican voters found that in the upcoming runoff Judge Moore leads with 51 percent support to just 32 percent for Strange with 17 percent of voters still undecided.

In his analysis of the data, JMC Analytics pollster John Couvillon wrote “The support of the defeated primary candidates has initially moved to Moore: not only did those supporting the ‘also rans’ say they support Moore 51-26 percent, but (to use a readily apparent example), ‘Mo’ Brooks’ Huntsville base has largely realigned itself with Moore, where he has a 52-29 percent lead.”

Chief Justice Moore’s campaign Chairman Bill Armistead said, “The numbers speak for themselves.  Conservatives all across Alabama are uniting behind Judge Moore to drain the DC swamp and send a clear message to Mitch McConnell and Karl Rove that their votes are not for sale. Voters in Alabama are repulsed by their negative attacks on Judge Moore and his wife. These new poll numbers will no doubt send them into orbit and they will double down on false negative attacks on Judge Moore as they did in the primary. But, I’ve got news for them. These attacks out of Washington will only reinforce voter’s opinion that Mitch McConnell and Karl Rove are desperate to save their candidate at all costs, and they are not buying their garbage. Judge Moore will continue to run a positive campaign while Luther Strange swims in Washington’s slimy swamp.”

Bill Armistead is the former Chairman of the Alabama Republican Party.

State Auditor Jim Zeigler (R) told Western Journalism, “Alabama voters cannot be bought. Mitch McConnell and the Washington Insiders spent millions of DC money trying to elect the Bentley-appointed Senator, Luther Strange. The people of Alabama saw through this. Strange lost 62 of 67 counties. This startling map of the official results tells the story.”

Moore’s numbers are rising as Brooks supporters choose Moore over the much more moderate Strange. On Friday, the Judge Roy Moore for US Senate campaign announced the endorsement of State Representative Ed Henry, former Trump Campaign Co-Chair for Alabama and Mo Brooks supporter.

Representative Ed Henry said, “During the Presidential Election I was the first elected official in Alabama on the Trump Campaign Team.  I have seen first hand the power and control of the elitist establishment in politics and Donald Trump was the only person in the race who I believed could truly stand up to the establishment and be a leader.”

Rep. Henry said, “When I look at this senate race, there is only one clear choice. Only one of these men has proven time and time again that he is unwavering in his devotion to our Creator and has put that devotion ahead of his own well being. Only one of these men has been willing to sacrifice everything for his faith. Only one of these men has served in our military and been willing to truly sacrifice everything for our Nation and that man is Roy Moore.  I am proud to give my full support to Roy Moore for US Senate because I know that Washington insiders fear the very idea of Roy’s presence shaking up their good ole’ boy system.”

Former Chief Justice Moore said in a statement, “I am honored to have Ed Henry on the team. Ed is a fighter, determined to take on the establishment both at home and in DC, and I look forward to pushing towards a September 26, victory with him. We are seeing support come together at a new level since Tuesday’s victory when 67 percent of Alabamians made it clear with their vote that they will not support a Washington insider.”

Moore was twice elected to the Alabama Supreme Court; but has been removed from the court twice by the appointed Court of the Judiciary (COJ) on charges brought by the Judicial Inquiry Commission (JIC).  The first time Moore was removed for acknowledging God in a Ten Commandments display that atheist attorneys objected to.  The second time, the popular Chief Justice was suspended for the rest of his term for not ordering the state’s Probate Judges to issue state marriage licenses to same-sex couples after the US Supreme Court ruled that state governments could not define marriage as exclusively being between one man and one woman.  Moore has strongly defended his action in both cases.

On Saturday, Moore said that Strange and his Washington allies have spent $5.6 million to earn Strange his second place finish in the GOP Primary on August 15.

Sen Strange’s 32.83 percent of votes cast was the poorest performance by any Republican incumbent in a Republican Primary anywhere in the country since 1962 in New Hampshire.  Moore received 38.87 percent to of votes cast.

The Republican primary runoff is on September 26, 2017.
