Judge Moore addresses Values Voter Summit

Friday, Republican Senate candidate Judge Roy Moore addressed the Value Voters Summit in Washington D.C. where he called Alabama’s U.S. Senate special election a “breakout opportunity” to take back our country and advance President Trump’s conservative agenda.

“Last November, with the election of Donald Trump, it was a day of great hope and enthusiasm. Today, we are seeing stagnation in Congress and this frustrates many Americans –  but I believe that we can Make America Great Again and this election is key to ensure that the America First agenda of President Trump becomes a reality,” Former Alabama Supreme Court Chief Justice Roy Moore said.

“Right now, Republicans have a slim 52 to 48 majority in the U.S. Senate. Far left political groups have pledged to spend millions of dollars to defeat conservative candidates like me and flip the Senate, but I believe that the passion of grassroots conservatives will overcome the big money of Hollywood and the Mike Bloombergs of the left,” Judge Moore said.

“The far left sees Alabama’s December 12th special election as an opportunity to halt the Trump agenda in its tracks.  We can’t allow that to happen. The American military must be rebuilt, our borders secured, religious liberty protected, and the tax code simplified to unleash job growth. Over the next eight weeks, I look forward to visiting with voters across Alabama, as I seek to earn the opportunity to work with President Trump to drain the D.C. swamp and put God and the people of America first again,” Moore stated.

Judge Moore received a standing ovation from grassroots conservatives after his speech at the Values Voter Summit in Washington, D.C. The Summit was hosted by the Family Research Council.

President Donald J. Trump (R) addressed the influential group later that evening.

The President said that in the first ten months of his administration, “We are stopping cold the attacks on Judeo-Christian values.” “America is a nation of believers and we are strengthened and sustained by the power of prayer,” he said, quoting the Founding Fathers and the founding documents of the United States,” he said.

“How times have changed, but you know what? They’re changing back again,” Trump said. The president highlighted his actions to defend religious liberties and protecting the rights of people of faith and his decision to re-instate the Mexico City policy and restore the National Day of Prayer.

“In America, we don’t worship government. We worship God,” Trump said. “We will defeat every evil, overcome every threat, and meet every single challenge. We will defend our faith and protect our traditions.”

The annual event is hosted by the Family Research Council and showcases a lineup of senators, governors, congressmen, movie stars and national leaders on religious liberty, family values and the pro-life movement, among others.

“Values voters made a difference in President Trump’s victory on Election Day and now they are headed for the U.S. Senate,” FRC President Tony Perkins said.

The Moore campaign is hoping that values voters, who are pro-life, pro-traditional marriage, pro-prayer and are supportive of Moore’s efforts to acknowledge God, will come to the polls en masse to elect him in the special election.

Judge Roy Moore faces Clinton-era U.S. Attorney Doug Jones (D) in the special general election on Dec. 12, 2017.
