Alabama Speaker of the House Mac McCutcheon, R-Monrovia, announced that the House will hold a “Small Business Day” in the House chamber on Tuesday.

The House special order calendar will be stacked with bills that are reportedly designed to help small businesses thrive, grow, and provide needed jobs.

The House will consider a resolution recognizing the work of the Alabama Small Business Commission, which serves as the voice of small business owners by recommending needed reforms in rules, regulations, and state law, will also be presented to the commission members in the chamber.

“Mega-projects may get the headlines, but small businesses provide the vast majority of jobs, hope, and opportunity across Alabama,” McCutcheon said.  “The men and women who operate small businesses risk their savings, their investments, and their sweat equity to keep Alabama’s economy healthy and moving forward, and I believe it is time for the House to formally recognize their efforts and sacrifices.”

Representatives from the National Federation of Independent Business (NFIB) and other small business groups are also expected to be in attendance throughout the day

Among the bills on the House agenda, which were requested by small businesses owners and associations, are:
