Former Roy Moore aide Rich Hobson, retired Army Sergeant Major Tommy Amason, and state Rep. Barry Moore, R-Enterprise, are all challenging Roby in the Republican primary. Former Democratic Congressman Bobby Bright, whom Roby unseated in the 2010 general election, is also running.

Tabitha Isner and Audri Scott Williams are both running in the Dermocratic primary for the seat.

The major party primaries will be on June 5, 2018.
