The Democratic presidential contenders met in Michigan for two debates on Tuesday and Wednesday nights to share their vision for the future of America. Republicans were quick to criticize the Democratic presidential contenders and the policies that they espoused.

Alabama Republican Party (ALGOP) Chairman Terry Lathan released a statement following the two night Michigan Democrat Presidential Debates. Lathan called their ideas, “A formula for failure.”

“It was two nights of the same song, second verse – socialist themes heralded by the Democrat candidates participating in the Michigan debate,” Chairman Lathan said. “From ‘Medicare for All’ with complete control over our healthcare to giving illegal immigrants free reign, this field of liberals once again showed how disconnected they are from the American public. Now more than ever it’s clear why President Trump’s policies are working for America while the left of left ideas they espoused at their debates are a formula for failure. We are confident voters will chose another four years of the Trump agenda which has resulted in record breaking prosperity for our great nation – less government, not more, is key to that success.”

Earlier in the day, Chairman Lathan met with Vice President Mike Pence (R) and his wife at the Vice-President’s residence.

“A wonderful time to visit with @VP and @SecondLady at their residence in DC. Great patriots who love America. The VP was interested in our US Senate race- I promised a win- Must deliver!” Lathan said on Twitter.

Republican National Committee Chair Ronna Romney McDaniel expressed similar views of the debate.

“Proving that nothing is impossible, Democrats moved even further to the left tonight… Not a single Democrat candidate can compete with President Trump’s record, and the American people are ready to re-elect him in 2020 to keep up this great American comeback,” McDaniel said on social media.

“The people on the stage tonight, and last, were not those that will either Make America Great Again or Keep America Great!” President Donald J. Trump (R) said on Twitter. “Our Country now is breaking records in almost every category, from Stock Market to Military to Unemployment. We have prosperity & success like never before.. …It will soon be time to choose to keep and build upon that prosperity and success, or let it go. We are respected again all around the world. Keep it that way! I said I will never let you down, and I haven’t. We will only grow bigger, better and stronger TOGETHER!”

Ten Democratic candidates appeared on stage together on Tuesday night and ten more appeared on stage together on Wednesday night. Four have been polling so poorly that the Democratic National Committee excluded them from this week’s CNN debate.

The Alabama presidential primaries will be on March 3. The general election will follow be on November 3, 2020.
