Brooks: “Fake News Media and Socialist Democrats should apologize to the American people”

Congressman Mo Brooks speaking on the House floor.

Wednesday, Congressman Mo Brooks (R-Huntsville), after reading the transcript of the phone call between President Donald J. Trump’s (R) and the President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zerensky, called on the news media and House Democrats to apologize to the American people.

“I have read the full transcript of the call between President Trump and Ukraine President Zelensky,” Rep. Brooks said. “I am incensed by the Fake News media and Socialist Democrats’ distortion of truth. I encourage ALL patriotic American citizens to read President Trump’s telephone transcript in full. In today’s age of Fake News, reading the unfiltered transcript is the only way to get to the truth. The Fake News Media and Socialist Democrats are engaged in a fake “Russian Collusion Scandal 2.0,” albeit this time involving Ukraine. The Fake News Media and Socialist Democrats should apologize to the American people for their intentional and knowing distortion of the truth.”

Brooks wrote that Democrats will tell lies to implement their socialist
agenda.

“Let’s be clear about why the Socialist Democrats want so badly to impeach President Trump. They’ll stop at nothing, be it violence, lies, or deceit to implement their socialist agenda, and President Trump is boldly standing in their way,” Brooks explained. “Before they even read the whistleblower complaint or the call transcript, Socialist Democrats called for impeachment. Well, I have read the ENTIRE transcript, and there is nothing in the phone call between President Trump and President Zelensky that warrants impeachment. Rather, President Trump’s request is a very straightforward effort to root out corrupt practices that may (or may not) reach all the way to America’s White House under President Obama and Vice President Biden. I would hope and encourage every President of the United States to root out and uncover corrupt practices in the United States, or by any American citizen anywhere, particularly when the allegations reach to the highest levels of America’s government— the White House!”

A recent Rasmussen poll of Americans. just before Speaker of the House Nancy Pelosi’s (D-California) made her decision to open an impeachment inquiry, found that the President was leading Democratic presidential front runner former Vice President Joe Biden 47 percent to 43 percent. This is after months of Democratic candidates having a slight lead over the President in polling. The sudden uptick in Trump’s popularity has unnerved many national Democrats; but congressional leaders insist that the decision to begin a formal impeachment inquiry is unrelated to the increasing likelihood that Trump will be re-elected next year.

Democrats in Congress insist that Pres. Trump threatened Pres. Zarensky’s military aid package if Zarensky did not reopen an investigation into Biden. Trump is skeptical of how Biden’s son Hunter Biden received an ownership stake in Ukrainian natural gas company Burisma holdings just weeks after Russian and Ukraine went to war and Ukraine asked for and got American aid. Trump also wants to know if the firing of Ukraine’s top prosecutor at the urgin of Biden was due to the prosecutor’s investigation into Burisma.

Pelosi and the House Democrats claim that it is improper to ask a foreign government to launch an investigation if legitimate financial threat is part of the request and that conversation was a clear violation of the Corrupt Practices Act which is a felony. The complaint was originally brought by an unnamed intelligence officer. The inspector general of the intelligence community, Michael Atkinson, had determined that the “whistleblower” complaint to be credible and urgent according to media reports.

President Trump called the impeachment inquiry a witch hunt.

In response to the national interest in the story, the Whitehouse has declassified the July 25 phone conversation between Trump and Zelensky.
