Lt. Governor Kay Ivey Signs Alabama Trust Fund Repayment Bill

MONTGOMERY, Alabama (February 19, 2013, The Alabama Trust Fund repayment bill receives the final stamp of approval from the Legislature before being sent to Governor Robert Bentley to be signed into law. Lieutenant Governor Kay Ivey signed HB 94 Tuesday in the Senate Chamber. Senator Bryan Taylor, the bill’s Senate sponsor, joined Lieutenant Governor Ivey for the signing.

The Trust Fund repayment bill is the first piece of legislation in the 2013 Legislative Session to reach the Governor’s desk. The bill guarantees the repayment of $437 million transferred from the Alabama Trust Fund to the General Fund. Alabama voters approved the transfer September 18, 2012.
