The Alabama Forestry Association has endorsed State Rep. Will Ainsworth, R-Guntersville, for lieutenant governor next year. The endorsement comes from the Association’s PAC, ForestPAC.

“With his public record and real-world understanding of how business works, Will has exciting plans to guide our state toward greater job creation and financial stability, while also reigning in regulatory barriers to growth.”

The Association represents more than 250,000 timberland owners and 120,000 employees of the timber industry in Alabama.

“Over 10 percent of the state’s economy revolves around the forestry industry and one in every five families in the state owns timberland,” Ainsworth said. “My team and I are excited about this important endorsement.”

Ainsworth has led the pack in fundraising for lieutenant governor, raising substantially more money than his two primary opponents. In the first month of fundraising, he even brought in more money than the Republican candidates for governor.
