Bernie Sanders to host campaign rally in Birmingham

Democratic 2020 presidential candidate Sen. Bernie Sanders, I-Vermont, will hold a rally at Kelly Ingram Park in Birmingham on Sunday, May 19, at 4 p.m.

Sanders plans to highlight how his policies, specifically restoring voting rights, reforming the K-12 education system, addressing environmental racism and eradicating poverty, will help Alabamians.

The event is free and open to the public, but guests are encouraged to RSVP on his campaign website.

Doors open at 2:30 p.m. for the event. Entry will be on a first come, first serve basis.

This appearance is part of a tour in Southern states.

He will also be speaking in North Carolina, South Carolina and Georgia.
