State Rep. Donna Givens

The Alabama Farmers Federation announced Tuesday its endorsement of Republican Representative Donna Givens for House District 64 in Baldwin County. The district covers all or a portion of Bay Minette, Elberta, Foley, Loxley, Robertsdale, Silverhill and Summerdale. It also covers the unincorporated communities of Belforest, Douglasville, Ellisville, Miflin, Pine Grove and Stapleton.

“Rep. Donna Givens works hard and represents the people of this district well,” said Hope Cassebaum, president of the Baldwin County Farmers Federation. “We have complete confidence she will continue to be a strong conservative voice for us and for agriculture in the legislature as she has been in the past.”

Givens graduated from Robertsdale High School and the University of Mobile. She enjoyed a 47-year career with Baldwin EMC and retired as the senior governmental economic development and community services administrator. She also chaired the North Baldwin Chamber of Commerce and the Central Baldwin Chamber of Commerce.

In the House of Representatives, Givens serves as vice chair of the Baldwin County legislative delegation. She also serves on the Boards, Agencies and Commissions; Local Legislation; Transportation, Utilities and Infrastructure; Ways and Means General Fund; and Ports, Waterways and Intermodal Transit committees.

“It is an honor to be endorsed by the hard-working farmers of Baldwin County,” said Givens. “I can think of no other group of concerned citizens who give back so much to their community. I am thrilled to continue my work with them to make Baldwin County an even better place to work, live and raise a family.”

Givens and her husband, Alton, have four children and 11 grandchildren. They reside in Loxley and attend Loxley Church.

The Alabama Farmers Federation is the state’s largest farm organization with more than 360,000 member families. It uses a grassroots approach to select candidates, relying on Alabama FarmPAC endorsements from county Farmers Federation boards for local elections.
