Former State Representative Howard Sanderford, R-Huntsville, a dedicated legislator who served the state for more than three decades, died Wednesday evening at age 90.
Majority Leader Scott Stadthagen released a statement on behalf of the House Republican Caucus, honoring Sanderford as a proud patriot and expressing condolences to his family:
“Rep. Howard Sanderford was a proud patriot, a committed conservative, and a devoted legislator who ably served his state and community for more than three decades prior to his retirement.
“Those of us who worked alongside him in the committee rooms and chambers of the Alabama State House were fortunate to witness the example of hard work and selfless service that he set, and every member of the House Republican Caucus joins me in sending prayers of consolation to his family at this time of loss.
“All who knew Rep. Sanderford understand that he wrought the most out of his 90 years, and his was a life well-lived.”
