The Voice of Alabama Politics introduced a new podcast Sunday hosted by longtime journalist and commentator, Bill Britt.
The program, titled “This Matters with Bill Britt,” debuted as a featured segment during Sunday’s broadcast of The Voice of Alabama Politics and will continue as a standalone podcast focused on commentary, analysis and interviews examining the political issues shaping Alabama and the nation.
The podcast expands The Voice of Alabama Politics’ growing digital programming and is designed to provide viewers and listeners with deeper context and thoughtful discussion about current political developments.
Britt, publisher of Alabama Political Reporter and host of The Voice of Alabama Politics, said the program aims to create space for meaningful conversation at a time when political discourse often moves too quickly for careful reflection.
“This Matters is built around the idea that the health of a democracy depends on an informed and engaged public,” Britt said. “Each episode steps back from the daily noise to look more closely at the ideas, decisions and people influencing our political life.”
The podcast will feature short commentary segments along with interviews with policymakers, journalists and subject-matter experts. Episodes will explore topics ranging from Alabama state politics and public policy to broader questions about democracy, governance and civic responsibility.
Britt said the new program reflects The Voice of Alabama Politics’ continued effort to expand its digital reach while strengthening its role as a platform for substantive political dialogue.
