Republican congressional candidate Case Dixon announced Monday that the Republican Liberty Caucus has endorsed his campaign for U.S. House of Representatives in Alabama’s 6th Congressional District.
“The Republican Liberty Caucus has been a leading voice for liberty within the Republican Party for more than three decades,” Dixon said, celebrating the endorsement. “Their members believe in limited government, free enterprise, and the protection of individual rights. I am proud to have their support.”
Founded in 1991, the RLC is a political action organization dedicated to “return[ing] the Republican Party to its ideological roots of limited government, free enterprise, and personal liberty and responsibility.” Per its website, the organization advocates for extreme free market reforms including the elimination of government subsidies and incentives, the privatization of all government assets, and the elimination of federal income tax.
The RLC also calls for the abolition of several federal programs and agencies including: the Department of Education; Department of Commerce; Department of Agriculture; Department of Health and Human Services; Department of Housing and Urban Development; Drug Enforcement Administration; Transportation Security Administration; and the National Endowments for the Arts and Humanities.
Dixon noted that the RLC’s values align with those of his campaign, which has been focused on issues of fiscal conservatism, individual liberties and congressional ethics reform.
“The Republican Party must remain rooted in the principles that have made this country great,” Dixon said. “That means defending individual liberty, respecting the Constitution, and limiting the reach of government.”
“Our rights do not come from Washington. They come from God,” Dixon continued. “Alabama’s Sixth District deserves a representative who will remind Washington of that truth every single day. With the support of the Republican Liberty Caucus, I’m ready to stand on those principles and fight for the future of my children and every family in Alabama’s Sixth District.”
Dixon’s RLC endorsement comes just weeks after the Alabama Republican Assembly announced its support for the political newcomer ahead of May’s Republican primary, where Dixon will face off against incumbent U.S. Representative Gary Palmer, R-Alabama, who is seeking reelection for a seventh term.
