Secretary of State Wes Allen on Wednesday reminded Alabama voters of key information ahead of the August 11 special primary election in the 1st, 2nd, 6th and 7th congressional districts.
“AlabamaVotes.gov remains the best resource for voters preparing to exercise their right to vote in the August 11 special primary election,” Allen said. “Alabamians can verify their congressional district and voter registration status, find their polling location, and review their county’s sample ballot so that they are fully prepared when heading to the polls.”
Polls will be open from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. on Election Day. Voters must present a valid form of photo identification before voting at their polling place or by absentee ballot.
Election results will be posted on a door or in another visible location at each polling place. Cumulative unofficial results will be posted on the Alabama secretary of state’s website at AlabamaVotes.gov.
Allen also expressed support for local election officials as they prepare for the special primary election.
“Our elections would not be possible without the dedication of the local election officials who work tirelessly to ensure every Alabama election is conducted securely, transparently, and with accountability,” Allen said. “I commend our probate judges, circuit clerks, sheriffs, boards of registrars, and poll workers for the important role they play in the Alabama elections process.”
