Governor Kay Ivey on Thursday released a video message commemorating the 25th anniversary of the September 11, 2001, terrorist attacks and honoring the nearly 3,000 Americans who were killed.
In her message, Ivey reflected on the profound loss experienced across the country, including by Alabamians. She also recalled the extraordinary courage of first responders and the strength and unity Americans demonstrated “in the face of evil.”
Twenty-five years later, Ivey is encouraging Alabamians to renew the nation’s promise to never forget the victims and to ensure younger generations understand the events of September 11 and the enduring lessons of that day, her office said.
