The Southeast Gas family of companies, including Southeast Gas Supply and Southeast Energy Authority, has announced several leadership transitions as the organization enters its next phase of growth. The changes are part of the companies’ long-term plan to support increasing demand and continued expansion.

Southeast Energy Authority is a municipally owned wholesale energy company with approximately $12 billion in assets. It serves public entities across the United States through discounted prepaid electricity and natural gas programs.

Leadership transitions

  • Brian Gilliland has been named president of Southeast Energy Authority.
  • Lori Messick has been named chief financial officer of Southeast Energy Authority.
  • Anna Till has been named director of finance and administration and chief financial officer of Southeast Gas.
  • Mitch Thorn has been named superintendent of operations for Southeast Gas’ Northern Division.

Greg Henderson will remain CEO and president of Southeast Gas and Southeast Gas Supply, as well as CEO of Southeast Energy Authority.

“The Southeast Gas family of companies is growing, and these appointments are an important part of positioning our organization to sustain that momentum. As demand grows, it is essential that we continue to build on the experience and leadership already in place while creating opportunities for strong leaders to take on additional responsibilities,” Henderson said. “Brian, Lori, Anna and Mitch have each demonstrated a commitment to our customers, ratepayers and the communities we serve. I am excited about the opportunities ahead for them and confident they will continue to represent Southeast Gas and Southeast Energy Authority well. These transitions support our long-term growth plan and strengthen our ability to serve customers and ratepayers well for years to come.”

Gilliland joined Southeast Gas in 2018 as director of gas management. He brings 25 years of experience with Kinder Morgan, where he served in gas operations, commercial operations and gas control. Gilliland will continue to serve as chief commercial officer of Southeast Gas.

Messick became director of finance and administration and chief financial officer in 2016. She has held roles including accounting supervisor and budget and reporting manager. Messick joined Southeast Gas in 2001 as a general accountant.

Till most recently served as budget and reporting manager and controller. She joined Southeast Gas in 2016 as an accounting supervisor and had 10 years of accounting experience before joining the company.
