Senate Health Chairman Reed Releases Statement Regarding Supreme Court Ruling

Staff Report

MONTGOMERY, Alabama (June 28, 2012) – Upon the United States Supreme Court’s ruling on the Affordable Care Act earlier this morning, Senator Greg Reed, chairman of the Senate Health Committee, released the following statement:

“Alabama now stands at a crossroads in our healthcare system due to the Supreme Court’s ruling on Obama’s health care law.  While hopefully the number of those with health insurance will grow moving forward, the negatives of newly imposed taxes and ballooning Medicaid rolls are hard to ignore.  As Senate Health committee chairman, I commit to the people of Alabama to find conservative, common sense and economical ways to deal with these massive changes in healthcare while protecting the healthcare delivery system, the patients and the taxpayers.”
