Butler Calls on Everyone to Arm Themselves

On Wednesday, December 2, some San Bernardino County Health Department employees met for a Christmas Party. Something went horribly wrong. 14 are now dead and 17 are wounded (some critically) after one of their co-workers and his wife arrived at the party, dressed and prepared for war in what many are describing as a terror attack.

While first responders were still removing the bodies, President Obama called for more limits on Americans to buy and possess firearms. “We don’t yet know what the motives of the shooters are but what we do know is that there are steps we can take to make Americans safer,” Obama said in the interview. “We should never think that this is just something that just happens in the ordinary course of events because it doesn’t happen with the same frequency in other countries.”

State Representative Mack Butler (R-Rainbow City) reached a different conclusion. He said on Facebook, “I encourage everyone to arm themselves and learn how to become proficient with their weapon. I will be happy to help anyone achieve this. Our president will not acknowledge this but we are at war. We are at war with radical Islam and must take the necessary precautions. Pray for America.”

State Auditor Jim Zeigler (R) said in a statement, Even CNBC now admits shooters’ home had: Remote-controlled explosive device, 12 pipe bombs, 2000 rounds of ammo, an IED factory. This was NOT a workplace violence incident. It would not have been prevented by stricter gun control laws. California already has some of the worst, restrictive gun laws. Calling 911 would not stop it, as 911 was called. Only prepared citizens with their own guns could have lessened the deaths and injuries. Only keeping Muslim extremists out of our country can lessen this growing problem.

Rep. Butler said, “Saudi Arabia, Muslims, and Christmas party. How hard is it to figure out the ingredients to a terrorist attack? Folks it’s not the Baptist, or the Presbyterians, the Jews, or the Mormons. It is time to elect a Congress and a president that will not only acknowledge but will attack and stop this problem. Do you seriously think that our Founding Fathers would be politically correct on this like the current administration? Research sometime how our third President Thomas Jefferson dealt with the Muslim Tripoli Pirates. Pray for America.”

Both suspects, Syed Farook (age 28) and his wife Tashfeen Malik were later shot dead by San Bernardino law enforcement officials after a brief police chase. The couple left multiple pipe bombs and other explosive devices at various sites associated with their killing spree including three pipe bombs at the Inland Regional Center, where they attacked Sayed’s co-workers.

Farook was a restaurant health inspector who was born in the United States from a Pakistani family. His 27 year old bride of nine months was Pakistani but had been living in Saudi Arabia, before immigrating this year to be with Syed. The couple has a six month old child they left with relatives before the attack began.

Authorities are not ruling out terrorism as a motive for this attack.

Butler was first elected to the State House in a special election when Rep. Blaine Galliher vacated the seat.
