Alabama A&M University celebrated a historic milestone on Saturday afternoon as it welcomed a record-breaking number of new students for the Class of 2028. The university hosted a grand ceremony to greet incoming freshmen, transfer students, and international students, marking the beginning of an exciting academic year.

“This is the day that we all live for,” said A&M’s Admissions Director, Dwayne Green, during the event. “364 days leads up to this one. We’re expecting a record year, and we’re looking to reach the 7,000 student mark this year. It’s exciting times for us,” Green stated, as first reported by WAFF 48.

Green expressed his amazement at the influx of new students, saying, “It’s mind-boggling to see these kids coming in. They don’t stop! I know it’s challenging for some students to get here today and some will be here tomorrow, but it’s a great feeling to see the students who showed up for this event today.”

This achievement marks the second consecutive year that Alabama A&M has set a new record for incoming students. A post on the university’s official Facebook page highlighted the continued success of its recruitment efforts.

Alabama A&M is poised to sustain its momentum, as the university recently purchased space on the largest billboard in Alabama and has launched aggressive advertising campaigns in major cities across the United States, as noted by WAFF 48.. The aim is to attract students seeking an HBCU experience, further solidifying A&M’s reputation as a top choice for higher education.

As Alabama A&M continues to break records and expand its reach, the excitement surrounding the university’s future only grows. With a strong commitment to providing a rich and diverse educational experience, A&M is well on its way to achieving its ambitious enrollment goals.
