Rep. Parker Moore appointed to Joint Transportation Committee

The committee plays a key role in overseeing the state’s transportation policies and infrastructure funding.

Rep. Parker Moore

Alabama State Rep. Parker Moore, R-Hartselle, has been appointed to the Alabama Joint Transportation Committee, according to a letter from Speaker of the House Nathanial Ledbetter. The committee, composed of members from both the State House of Representatives and Senate, plays a key role in overseeing the state’s transportation policies, infrastructure funding, and transportation network, including roads, bridges, and public transit.

Moore expressed his gratitude for the appointment in a comment to APR, stating, “It is an honor to be appointed to the Joint Transportation Committee. I am grateful for Speaker Ledbetter’s trust in me for this position, and I am looking forward to working with my colleagues to improve, invest, and innovate Alabama’s transportation system.”

The Joint Transportation Committee is responsible for reviewing and recommending transportation projects for funding and assessing the condition of Alabama’s infrastructure. They collaborate closely with the Alabama Department of Transportation (ALDOT) and other agencies to shape transportation policy and advocate for necessary improvements.

Their work will be especially critical during budget discussions and infrastructure improvement initiatives, including interstate expansions and projects funded by state and federal grants. These projects aim to address the construction and repair of highways, ensuring safe and efficient transportation for Alabama residents.

Moore, who represents Alabama District 4, has been active in a range of legislative areas, including education, healthcare, and infrastructure. His work has focused on promoting public safety and supporting local economic growth within his district and the state at large. Known for his alignment with conservative principles, Moore has advocated for small government, lower taxes, and job creation, while also engaging in discussions about the state budget and funding for public services.
