The Business Council of Alabama announced Tuesday that Reagan Huguley has joined its staff as communications coordinator on the External Affairs team.

A native of Muscle Shoals, Alabama, Huguley brings a strong foundation in communications, public policy and stakeholder engagement. During her time as a BCA intern, she played a key role in supporting member communications and legislative outreach, earning high praise for her professionalism, initiative and strong grasp of the organization’s mission, BCA shared.

“We’re proud to welcome Reagan back to BCA in an official capacity,” said Helena Duncan, BCA president and CEO. “She consistently impressed us during her internship with her drive, communication skills, and understanding of our advocacy efforts. Her return is a testament to her talent and to the value of investing in young professionals who share our commitment to advancing Alabama’s business climate.”

Huguley most recently interned with the Alabama House of Representatives during the 2024 legislative session, supporting the office of House Speaker Nathaniel Ledbetter. She also previously served in Governor Kay Ivey’s Appointments Office during the summer of 2022.

A recent graduate of the University of Alabama, Huguley earned a Bachelor of Arts in political science with a concentration in English and law. The organization shared that her experience in public relations, writing, member engagement and digital strategy will be instrumental in expanding BCA’s communications efforts.

As communications coordinator, Huguley joins BCA’s external affairs team alongside Bradshaw Tyson, VP of External Affairs, and Katelyn Bussey, who recently stepped into the role of director of Events and Development. In this position, Huguley will support digital communications and marketing initiatives designed to broaden the reach and impact of BCA across the state.

“I’m honored to officially join the BCA team,” said Huguley. “I look forward to continuing the work of advancing smart, pro-growth policies that create jobs and expand economic opportunity across Alabama.”
