Senate President Pro Tem Garlan Gudger, R-Cullman, announced Wednesday that his leadership political action committee, FORGE PAC, has raised nearly $1.8 million in just seven months—an unprecedented sum he says reflects strong statewide support for the Republican supermajority’s agenda in the Alabama Senate.

According to a campaign finance report filed with the Alabama Secretary of State’s Office, FORGE PAC has reported $1,789,800 in contributions. Gudger claims the total is “believed to be the most raised by any committee of its kind in the history of the Alabama Senate.”

Gudger credited the surge in financial backing to what he called the Senate Republican Caucus’s “solid achievements and real results” throughout the current quadrennium.

“The Alabama Legislature is recognized by many as the most conservative in the nation, and we earned that title through hard work, tackling the tough issues head on, and remaining true to commonsense principles and core conservative values,” Gudger said. “Our Senate Republicans have produced solid achievements and real results, and this record-breaking report signals that Alabamians across the state want us to continue on this course for another four years.”

FORGE PAC was created to help fund incumbent conservative senators in their reelection efforts. The Republican supermajority currently holds 27 of the 35 seats in the Alabama Senate, and Gudger made it clear that maintaining that grip on power remains his top political priority.

“Campaign season is no time for summer soldiers and sunshine patriots, so we will continue raising resources and supporting our incumbents every day until the 2026 election,” Gudger said. “Our goal is simple — returning a committed conservative supermajority to the Alabama Senate and completing our single-minded mission of making an already great state even better.”

Gudger, now serving his second term in the Senate, was elected president pro tem on the first day of the 2025 regular session and has ramped up his fundraising efforts since taking the gavel.
