Alabama Secretary of State Wes Allen has emerged as the fundraising frontrunner in the race for lieutenant governor, pulling in $128,200 in campaign contributions during the month of June, according to required financial disclosures.
With 34 individual donors from across the state, Allen reported both the highest dollar amount and the largest number of contributors of any lieutenant governor candidate who has filed a June report—marking the second consecutive month he has led the field in fundraising.
“I continue to be grateful for the outpouring of support this campaign is receiving from across the state,” Allen said in a statement. “People across our state recognize that I have a strong record of getting things done. From eliminating $2 million in unnecessary spending in the Secretary of State’s Office to developing the most secure elections system in our nation’s history to leading the charge to ban puberty blockers and sex change procedures on minors in our state, I have shown repeatedly that I am not a person that just talks about standing up for conservative values. I take real action, over and over again. I fight for what is right on economic and social issues and I get the job done.”
Allen previously served as the probate judge of Pike County for nearly a decade before being elected to the Alabama House of Representatives and later as Alabama’s 54th secretary of state. He is now seeking the Republican nomination for lieutenant governor in the 2026 election cycle. The Republican primary is scheduled for May 19, 2026.
