Brian Gunn, candidate for Birmingham City Council District 4, announced Tuesday the endorsement of three major youth-focused Democratic organizations: the Birmingham Young Democrats, the Alabama Young Democrats, and the Alabama College Democrats.

“These endorsements underscore the momentum building behind Gunn’s campaign and reflect the growing support for his vision of a more inclusive, responsive, and forward-thinking Birmingham,” Gunn’s release said.

“I’m honored to have the backing of these incredible organizations that represent the next generation of leadership in Alabama,” Gunn said. “Young people are shaping the future of our city and our state, and I’m committed to bringing their voices and values into every decision at City Hall.”

Khadidah Stone, president of the Alabama Young Democrats, praised Gunn’s commitment to service and equity. “Brian Gunn has shown up for our communities time and again, not just during campaign season, but year-round,” Stone said. “He brings the kind of experience, compassion, and work ethic that our generation wants to see in local leadership. We’re proud to stand with him.”

Sam Mckinney, president of the Alabama College Democrats, echoed the sentiment. “Brian understands the issues that matter to young people, affordable housing, safer neighborhoods, climate resilience, and economic opportunity,” Mckinney said. “We need bold, accessible leaders like him who listen and lead with purpose.”

Gunn, a longtime community advocate and public servant, said he has built his campaign around neighborhood investment, government transparency, and delivering real results for working families. Gunn also said that his message has resonated with young voters eager for a city government that is more engaged and accountable.

“With Election Day quickly approaching, Gunn’s campaign continues to build grassroots momentum, with a growing coalition of residents, organizers, and local leaders working to bring fresh energy to District 4,” his release shared.
