The Alabama Republican Party announced Wednesday that Republican National Committee Chairman Michael Whatley will serve as the keynote speaker for its 2025 Summer Dinner. The event will take place on Friday, Aug. 1, 2025, at the Renaissance Montgomery at the Convention Center, located at 201 Tallapoosa Street, Montgomery, AL 36104.

A reception will begin at 6 p.m., with the dinner to follow at 7 p.m.

Whatley was re-elected earlier this year as the 66th chairman of the Republican National Committee. Hand-picked by President Trump to lead the GOP through the 2024 election cycle, the Party shared that Chairman Whatley helped Republicans achieve gains across the country and reclaim the White House.

Prior to leading the RNC, Whatley served as chairman of the North Carolina Republican Party. During his career, Whatley has served in the George W. Bush administration, as chief of staff for Senator Elizabeth Dole, and as a senior advisor on President Trump’s transition teams. “He is widely recognized for his dedication to the America First agenda and his ability to build winning coalitions across the country,” the Party said.

ALGOP Chairman John Wahl praised Whatley’s leadership and emphasized his accomplishments:

“Chairman Whatley is one of the most effective and respected leaders in the Republican Party today. His leadership has been critical to revitalizing our national infrastructure, reenergizing the grassroots base, and restoring public trust in our election system.

“Chairman Whatley and I became friends while serving as State Chairmen together on the RNC, and I can tell you firsthand that he understands what it takes to win—not just at the presidential level, but from the local level all the way to the top of the ticket. His strategic vision and commitment to the America First agenda were instrumental in helping Republicans take back the White House and secure victories across the country in 2024.

“We are honored to welcome him to Alabama for this year’s Summer Dinner. His message of strength, unity, and conservative principles could not come at a more important time for our state and our nation. I know his presence will inspire and energize Republicans as we prepare for the critical elections ahead and continue our fight to protect freedom, faith, and the foundational values that make this country great.”
