Both Chapters of Associated Builders and Contractors, Inc. in Alabama, leading advocates for the Merit Shop construction industry, announced last week their official endorsement of Tommy Tuberville in the 2026 race for governor.
“During his time in the U.S. Senate, ABC Members have worked alongside Tuberville serving as advisors on construction industry issues. Through this partnership with Tuberville and our membership across the state, ABC Alabama and ABC North Alabama have seen that Tuberville best represents the values and policy priorities that align with ABC’s mission of supporting and defending Free Enterprise and the Merit Shop Philosophy,” the organization said.
“Tuberville simply gets us and understands our industry,” said Tim Harrison of Harrison Construction in Tuscaloosa and chairman of ABC of Alabama. “He has been a vocal champion for Alabama construction firms, consistently opposing government mandated project labor agreements and showing a clear understanding of our workforce shortage concerns. He is sincerely committed to helping grow our $17.2 billion industry here in Alabama.”
“I’m honored to receive the endorsement of the members of ABC in Alabama,” said Tuberville. “Their work in protecting the values of fair and open competition in the construction industry and ensuring the training and safety of their members is vital, and I look forward to working together to ensure our state thrives.”
