With a powerful message of inclusion and action, Nell Brown has officially entered the race for Alabama House of Representatives, District 15, vowing to bring bold leadership and everyday experience to the State Legislature.
“I’m not running to be a politician; I’m running to be a public servant,” said Brown. “For far too long, our communities have been overlooked. Our schools are underfunded. Our working families are stretched thin and doing more with less. I’ve experienced these struggles, and I’m stepping up because I believe our voices deserve to be heard—loud, clear, and without apology.”
Brown is a lifelong resident of McCalla, a wife, mother of three, and a proud Magna Cum Laude graduate of Miles College. She is currently pursuing a Juris Doctor at Miles School of Law and brings a background in business management, community advocacy and leadership.
Her campaign will focus on issues she says are urgent for District 15 and across Alabama: equitable funding for public education, access to affordable healthcare, infrastructure improvements, economic opportunity, and greater accountability in Montgomery.
“When I get to Montgomery, I’m not going to sit quietly,” Brown said. “I’m going to show up, speak up, and fight for what’s right. I’m going to work every single day to improve the lives of the people who sent me there.”
As she kicks off her campaign, Brown is calling on residents to join her movement. She emphasized the need for grassroots engagement—volunteering, spreading the word, and contributing financially to help fuel a competitive race.
“This isn’t just my campaign—it’s ours,” she said. “Together, we can bring real, lasting change to District 15.”
A 2009 graduate of Miles College with a degree in Business Management, Nell Brown has dedicated her life to service, justice and community. She is a wife, mother, law student, and advocate running to bring integrity, compassion, and action to the Alabama State House.
