Allbright wins Alabama House District 11 special election

Voters in Cullman and Blount Counties cast their ballots Tuesday, choosing a Republican to represent them in the state House.

Heath Allbright

Voters in portions of Cullman and Blount Counties went to the polls Tuesday for the special general election in Alabama House District 11.

The Republican nominee in the race, Heath Allbright, beat the Democratic candidate, Alex Braswell.

“I want to congratulate Heath Allbright on his strong victory tonight. Heath has proven himself to be a conservative leader, a man of faith, and a fighter for Alabama families,” Alabama Republican Party Chairman John Wahl said. “I know he will bring that same dedication to the State House as he works to defend our freedoms, protect our values, and ensure that the voices of the people are always put first. The voters of House District 11 chose well, and I look forward to working alongside Heath to keep Alabama strong.”

This seat became vacant earlier this year when former State Representative Randall Shedd joined the staff of Senate President Pro Tem Garlan Gudger.
